This is a unique web site designed especially for those looking for beautiful homes with deep draft, sailboat access where one can moor a large sailboat directly in back of the home. As you may know, the Florida Gulf Coast is relatively shoal compared with the Great Lakes or Northeast. That means that true Sailboat access with 5-6 ft. controlling depth at MLW right up to your doorstep is difficult to find. The winter tides that accompany the "Northers" from December to March can result in extreme low tides so controlling depth for your home and boat are crucial for ease of navigation out to open water. In much of the Real Estate business, "sailboat water" is simply used to refer to any home with no overhead obstructions, bridges, etc. out to open water. That's only half the story. Perhaps more important is the controlling depth, i.e. the shallowest depth of clearance under the boat in the channel between the home and open sailing water. This is much more difficult to measure and observe and most Realtors are so busy selling property they don't get the opportunity to know their waterways from their own personal sailboat experience.

Once you've found good, navigable, sailboat water, the next question is "is this where I want to live?" What are the town and community like? How far is my home from open water sailing and what kind of sailing can I do? Are there neat sailing destinations? Islands to gunkhole? Resorts to visit by boat? Restaurants on the water?
